It was Socrates who said: “The one thing I know is that I know nothing.”
Anyone who’s gained a certain amount of knowledge and experience shares this same thought; at least, when egos are put aside.
And if we scale this thought to business level, it shows us that, although our knowledge can never be complete, striving for new information and developing our experience is crucial to success. The pharmaceutical industry is a case in point. There’s a constant influx of new medicines into the market, and health care professionals must keep up with what’s new and useful.
So, how do we deal with this?
At Doctrina we believe in the free flow of communication, regular feedback, trying out new approaches, and lifelong learning. This approach has made us feel more confident in our work, more open to our mistakes and more eager to overcome challenges and to improve what we do. Recently we had a discussion about what helps us as individuals, and we’d like to share what we came up with, because we hope it might be useful for everyone:
– Regular feedback
It’s all about two-way communication, no matter who you are talking with; your colleagues, your boss, your customers, patients or business partners. Communication is key.
– Acknowledging others
Sharing your opinion is important but being able to really listen to others, to make them feel heard, is more so. You’ll not just improve relationships, but you’ll usually find huge value in the information and ideas they share.
– Honesty
Transparency can be difficult. But doesn’t it always feel better when we’re honest about our goals, wishes and concerns?
– Reviewing your work
Reviewing your work is great for learning. It’s an opportunity to be proud of the good work you did as well learn from what went right – and what went wrong.
– Trying out new approaches
Never settle for the status quo. Be prepared to think, learn and find a new solution. It will be super rewarding for you as well as your company.
Bridging the knowledge gap
At Doctrina, we strive to make new knowledge about pharmaceutical and medical products accessible anytime and anywhere.
Did you know that there are nearly two million physicians and pharmacists working in the EU who use the internet to research pharmaceuticals and new medical devices? We can help you reach them.
Our marketing methodology gives healthcare professionals the information they’re looking for and, at the same time, gives our clients the opportunity to exceed their business goals. We develop and implement multi-channel marketing campaigns, centred on providing high quality, high impact online education for physicians, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals. An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.
